The holidays are upon us! I literally just realized that Thanksgiving is just a few days away. What?!?!
I know I’m not alone when I say that making holiday quilts and quilty projects is my absolute favorite thing to do. And gifting quilts for Christmas! I just love it.
I wanted to share my top 5 holiday projects for quilters. These are beautiful pieces you can make that will fill your home with festive cheer.
Is there anything more perfect than a beautiful quilted table runner to add a special touch to your holiday meal? The Miss Woodhouse Table Runner pattern can be made in so many different combinations to set the mood for the holiday meal of your dreams.
This gorgeous Thanksgiving version by Kristin Quinn (pictured above) has the most beautiful fall colors. And I love my Art Gallery Fabrics, Christmas in the City version (pictured below). I can’t wait to set it up on my side table with all my fun Christmas decor arranged on top.
And if you’re going for understated elegance, this green version by Brie Wells of Willow Grove Goods is absolute perfection! She used all Sprout Wovens by Fableisn.
The Jane’s Gift quilt pattern was my first official pattern and it holds a special place in my heart. It’s still one of my favorite designs and it is the perfect Christmas throw pillow. I get so excited every year to get mine out of the Christmas bin and add it to my living room.
Shelby Bruno of @MinsysQuilts was a tester for my Barton Park quilt pattern. When I saw her version I literally almost fell off my chair! It is simply and beautifully done with all solids, but the colors make this quilt look like a field of poinsettias. It’s gorgeous!
This quilt would make the perfect accent throw to cuddle with on the couch next to the tree. Grab a mug of your favorite hot drink, turn on some Christmas music and snuggle away.
The Miss Woodhouse Quilt pattern is my latest design and it’s one that took countless hours to design. It’s all traditionally pieced and is so fun to make. It’s like working on an intricate puzzle, which is one of my favorite Christmastime activities.
I did a quick mock-up of this pattern in a few Rifle Paper Co Holiday Classics fabrics and the result is absolutely stunning. This would make such a lovely wall hanging or Christmas throw. (Plus, you can pair it with the coordinating table runner, hint hint.)
My friend Holly of @MakerValley designed this Happy Christmas Quilt Pattern and it’s one of my favorites.
I had a FQ bundle of Lemmoni’s Polar Magic for Figo Fabrics and it was seriously the perfect fabric for this quilt. And I love the scrappy background and peppermint stripe border.
If you have time, I definitely recommend making this fun quilt and snuggling with it next to your favorite people.
Happy Christmas Everyone!
I love making these little Scandinavian Woven Star ornaments to give as gifts. They’re so cute and fun to make. My favorite tutorial is the one by The Weekend Quilter and you can find it here.
